What is the Elder's Ministry
The Elders Ministry is charged with witnessing and ministry to a special population of parishioners who may have been a part of the church, or maybe not, but are now shut-in or homebound and are not able to attend worship services. They are often the forgotten members of the church.
Senior adults and those who are sick or confined to their homes, nursing homes or hospital beds, would love to attend worship services, church programs and other church events to experience the fellowship and community of their church family on a regular basis. However, circumstances or illness has prevented them from continuing to worship in person.
There is no substitute for personal contact, but outreach ministry provides a way to fill the void of your homebound parishioners when they are no longer able to be physically active and present in church.
At True Life Ministries our Ministers and volunteerrs help senior adults or other homebound members feel remembered and appreciated by visiting on a regular basis to share the ministry of Jesus Christ and the also can bring cheer by providing everyday items that these seniors may not be able to access. The overall goal of the ministry is to remind those who are sick or shut into their homes or care facilities of your church's concern for their emotional and spiritual well-being.
How do I join the Elders Ministry?
Contact Ministers Steve Sapp or Gerald Brown if you are interested in being a part of the Elders Ministry.
Visitations are the 2nd and 4th Saturdays at 2:00. We are looking for those that can sing to share hymns with the seniors, and those prayer warriors that can bring the love of God into a place where many feel forgotten.
Who Can join?
Anyone that has a passion for testifying and witnessing to others about the Glory of God can be a part of the Elders Ministry. If you have a desire to serve the church, and enjoy talking with elders and listening to their stories, then please come and join us.
